Pat Robertson has warned the people of Dover, PA (who voted out of office school board members who supported the teaching of intelligent design) not to call on God if disaster strikes because they turned their back on God with this vote.
"God is tolerant and loving, but we can't keep sticking our finger in His eye forever."
Actually, isn't that our story? We stick our finger in God's eye, God's forgives, we stick God's eye, God forgives . . . What about that seventy times seven forgivesness stuff that we're called to do? If that's our calling, it seems that God's ability to forgive must be much greater.
And of course, that's assuming a vote against intelligent design is a vote against God :)
