Not Just in the Movies . . .

I had a good sales call today.  After months of being rebuffed from this account, I met with two people and got a commitment for a follow-up meeting.  Relationships are a huge part of sales, and today I seeded two relationships which should produce revenue-bearing fruit later this summer.

And so after the sales call I bound across the street and hop into my car.  I'm in a good mood.  And for some ungodly reason, I break into full-voice song, pounding on the steering wheel for percussive effect: "I love rock and roll!  Put another dime in the jukebox baby!  I love rock and roll.  Come and take your time and dance with me!"  After a few more celebratory fist-pumps, I stop, catch my senses, and ask out loud in an annoyed, accusatory tone: "What the hell am I doing?"

I guess it's not just in the movies where people act like complete idiots . . . .
